“Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.” Bible, Matthew 13:12.

That’s right! Gratitude is the key to unlock all the areas of your life. If you are grateful, you will start finding more and more reasons to be grateful even further. If you start counting your gifts, blessings, and every achievement either small or big, you will in turn start attracting more of them to your life force.

We think that it takes money or tremendous effort to get it but that is not so. Attracting abundance to our lives is actually much simpler than that and it is based on our thoughts and perception.

Most of the times we do not realize the immense power of our thoughts. But when you live with gratitude for what you have, you fill your mind with optimism. However, when you focus only on what all you are lacking, your minds fill with negativity, bitterness, and jealousy. It is true that living life with gratitude brings abundance into our lives. The more thankful you are for all the gifts we receive, large and small, the more abundance you attract.

It is true that we live in a material world and want nice things while we dream of becoming wealthy. But let us not equate wealth with money. Our dreams are what motivate us to achieve our goals. The trials of the journey our dreams take us on is how we grow.

Here are some ways you can practice gratitude:

Do not pick and choose when you want to be grateful. Do not use your gratefulness for an expected outcome. Like attracts like. It is a fact that thoughts are energy. So if energy follows energy, then energy follows thought. So, think positive! When you live life with gratitude and appreciation, you change your energy and attract more of what you want. How you think is what you get because gratitude is the key.

Gratefulness can be found in the simplest of things. Try finding it in a good job, good health, a good home, a good partner or even a good meal. Every breath we take is a gift to us and a miracle. Try imagining the alternative.

Abundance goes beyond the possessions we have or the situation we are in.

To be grateful is to be accepting. We are creatures of habit. It takes us a huge leap of faith to start believing in something we have never acknowledged working in our lives before.

Living with gratitude does not mean denying that problems exist. What it does mean is incorporating simple practices that make it easier to accept all situations. Our attitude about our life experiences matters a lot.

You can adopt some ways of changing your way of thinking:

Pay attention to your thoughts – Simply say “thanks” for the little things, like kind gestures or kind gifts that graciously come your way. Even if there isn’t a person to thank, say it anyway.

Change your way of thinking by taking responsibility and acknowledging positivity about every situation you find yourself in. Do this by accepting that you are just as worthy of the infinite universal gifts as anyone else.

Make a monthly list of thirty things in your life that you are grateful for. Some people prefer to have a gratitude journal so they can write daily about everything they are thankful for. Try taking a gratitude walk where you can quietly reflect on your life. However you choose to do it, with practice, your ability to appreciate will become your second nature.

The gift of empowerment comes after gratitude. Add accomplishment to the list of things you are grateful for. Develop this practice and change your perspective. That is how you will allow abundance to flow and it will open up all the possibilities for you that exist in the universe. Your ultimate goal should be to keep the abundance in a constant flow. Never hoard your abundance because that will only block the flow.

Remember this, when you show gratitude to life, life will show gratitude back to you. So the more grateful you are for what you have, the more you will have to be grateful for. It is simply the Law of Attraction.
